On the last day of the Old Year, our hiking group made a trip along the
Traisentaler Rundwanderweg
starting at the village Eschenau and walking up "Kaiserkogel",
a hill 716 m above sea level, 70 miles west of Vienna.
The region is called "Mostviertel" (due to the must made ofthe region's apples and pears)
and it is a part of the Austrian Pre-Alps.

Das freut mich aber, hier wieder etwas Neues, noch dazu aus meiner Lieblingsgegend zu lesen - ich glaub wir hatten zur Reisalpe schon einmal kurz Kontakt.
Früher, als ich noch in St. Pölten wohnte, bin ich oft vom Sonnleitgraben bei Eschenau über den Kaiserkogel gewandert. - Eine schöne kleine Rundwanderung.

Wirklich schöne Fotos sind dir hier gelungen, Maria! Und in der Kaiserkogelhütte gab es sicher eine zünftige Jause. Die Hinweise auf diverse Schmankerln der Biobauern sind auch gut gelungen!
